| Abstract | The rapid advancement of digital technologies has significantly transformed educational practices by introducing innovative approaches for teaching, learning, assessment, and knowledge management. Among emerging technologies, Virtual Reality (VR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) have gained considerable attention due to their potential to create immersive, personalised, and intelligent learning environments. Traditional education systems often face challenges related to student engagement, individual learning needs, practical skill development, and accessibility. The integration of VR and AI provides new opportunities to overcome these limitations by enabling experiential learning, adaptive instruction, intelligent tutoring, and data-driven educational decision-making. This study presents a comprehensive review of the integration of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence in modern education. The research adopts a qualitative and analytical methodology based on secondary data obtained from academic studies, educational technology frameworks, and digital learning case studies. The study explores applications of VR and AI in areas including immersive classrooms, personalised learning systems, intelligent tutoring platforms, virtual laboratories, automated assessment, learning analytics, and inclusive education. The findings indicate that VR enhances educational experiences by providing realistic simulations and interactive learning environments, while AI improves educational effectiveness through adaptive learning algorithms, predictive analytics, automated feedback, and intelligent content recommendations. The combination of VR and AI enables the development of smart learning ecosystems capable of responding to individual learner requirements and improving educational outcomes. However, challenges such as high implementation costs, technological infrastructure requirements, data privacy concerns, ethical issues, digital inequality, and the need for teacher training remain significant barriers. Successful integration requires appropriate policies, investment in digital infrastructure, responsible AI practices, and continuous professional development for educators. The study concludes that the integration of Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence represents a transformative pathway for modern education by creating engaging, personalised, and learner-centred educational environments. Future education systems will increasingly rely on intelligent immersive technologies to support lifelong learning and digital transformation. |
