| Abstract | Industry 5.0 represents the next evolutionary stage of industrial development, extending beyond the automation-centric paradigm of Industry 4.0 by emphasizing collaboration between human intelligence and intelligent automation. While Industry 4.0 focused on cyber-physical systems, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), robotics, cloud computing, and big data analytics to improve efficiency and productivity, Industry 5.0 introduces a human-centric approach that integrates advanced technologies with human creativity, critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and sustainable development. Intelligent automation, collaborative robotics (cobots), Digital Twins, edge computing, machine learning, and AI-powered decision support systems enable organizations to enhance operational efficiency while preserving the indispensable role of human expertise in innovation and complex problem-solving. This study examines the integration of human intelligence with intelligent automation within the Industry 5.0 framework through a multidisciplinary perspective. Employing a qualitative and analytical research methodology based on secondary data from industrial engineering, manufacturing systems, computer science, information systems, organizational management, and sustainability literature, the study investigates Industry 5.0 principles, enabling technologies, industrial applications, workforce transformation, governance mechanisms, implementation challenges, and future research directions. Particular emphasis is placed on collaborative intelligence, smart manufacturing, sustainable industrial development, workforce reskilling, ethical AI, and resilient industrial ecosystems. The findings indicate that Industry 5.0 significantly enhances productivity, innovation, operational resilience, product customization, workforce satisfaction, and environmental sustainability by fostering collaboration between humans and intelligent machines. However, challenges related to workforce adaptation, cybersecurity, ethical governance, interoperability, digital skills, infrastructure investment, and organizational change management remain critical barriers to implementation. The study concludes that Industry 5.0 provides a comprehensive framework for achieving intelligent, sustainable, and human-centered industrial development through responsible integration of advanced technologies and human expertise. |
