Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Post-Pandemic Economy

Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic fundamentally reshaped global economic systems, accelerating digital transformation and redefining entrepreneurial activities across industries. Digital entrepreneurship has emerged as a key driver of economic recovery, business resilience, employment generation, and sustainable innovation by leveraging digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), cloud computing, big data analytics, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), e-commerce platforms, digital payment systems, and social media. The post-pandemic economy has witnessed rapid growth in digital startups, remote business models, platform-based enterprises, fintech, edtech, healthtech, and digital service ecosystems, enabling entrepreneurs to overcome geographical barriers, enhance customer engagement, optimize business operations, and create innovative value propositions. Simultaneously, governments and private organizations have increased investments in digital infrastructure, entrepreneurship ecosystems, innovation hubs, and digital skills development to support inclusive economic growth.
This study investigates digital entrepreneurship and innovation in the post-pandemic economy through a multidisciplinary perspective. Using a qualitative and analytical research methodology based on secondary data from entrepreneurship, economics, information systems, innovation management, digital business, public policy, and technology literature, the study examines digital business models, enabling technologies, entrepreneurial ecosystems, implementation challenges, governance mechanisms, sustainability contributions, and future research directions. Particular emphasis is placed on digital platforms, AI-driven business innovation, startup ecosystems, fintech, e-commerce, digital marketing, remote work, cloud computing, and entrepreneurial resilience.
The findings indicate that digital entrepreneurship significantly enhances business agility, market expansion, innovation capacity, operational efficiency, employment opportunities, and economic resilience while promoting sustainable and inclusive development. However, challenges including digital inequality, cybersecurity risks, regulatory uncertainty, financial constraints, digital skills gaps, and infrastructure limitations continue to affect entrepreneurial growth. The study concludes that integrating technological innovation, supportive policy frameworks, entrepreneurial education, and sustainable digital ecosystems provides a strong foundation for long-term economic competitiveness and post-pandemic recovery.
