| Abstract | The convergence of biotechnology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) represents one of the most significant interdisciplinary developments shaping healthcare, agriculture, environmental management, and sustainable development. Biotechnology generates increasingly complex biological, genomic, molecular, agricultural, and ecological datasets, while AI provides computational techniques capable of analysing these datasets, identifying patterns, predicting outcomes, and supporting complex decision-making. The integration of machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and generative AI with biotechnology is creating new opportunities for precision medicine, drug discovery, disease diagnosis, precision agriculture, crop improvement, biological resource management, and environmental sustainability. This study examines the emerging opportunities created by the convergence of biotechnology and AI across healthcare, agriculture, and sustainable development. A qualitative and descriptive methodology based on secondary literature, scientific publications, international reports, and policy documents is adopted. The study analyses major applications including AI-assisted drug discovery, genomic medicine, medical diagnostics, agricultural disease detection, crop phenotyping, precision irrigation, soil management, biotechnology-based environmental monitoring, and bio-based production. The findings indicate that AI can significantly accelerate biological research, improve resource efficiency, support early disease detection, enhance agricultural productivity, and contribute to sustainable development. However, challenges related to data quality, privacy, algorithmic bias, biological complexity, cybersecurity, regulatory uncertainty, intellectual property, and unequal access remain important. The study concludes that responsible integration of AI and biotechnology can create a powerful foundation for future innovation, provided that technological development is accompanied by ethical governance, interdisciplinary expertise, appropriate regulation, and equitable access. |
